Information we collect

You can use the calculator without creating an account. If you sign in with ChatGPT, we receive the email address and, when available, the name associated with that sign-in so we can identify your private My Recipe Box.

When you save a recipe, we store its name, formula, instructions, notes, optional recipe photo, Baking Coach response, rating, creation date, and the email address used to keep it associated with your account.

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, topic, and message you submit are processed by Formspree so the message can be delivered and answered.

How information is used

We use this information to provide sign-in, save and retrieve your recipes, generate requested guidance, protect the service, troubleshoot problems, and improve My Proofing Box.

Baking Coach requests

When AI-enhanced guidance is available and you request it, your recipe details and the notes you entered are sent to OpenAI to generate the response. Avoid putting unrelated personal or sensitive information in recipe notes.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Essential technologies may be used to maintain sign-in and operate the site. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page views and site performance. This service is designed to operate without analytics cookies, local storage, or individual visitor tracking.

My Proofing Box uses or may use Google AdSense to display advertising. When advertising is active, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar technologies to serve, measure, and personalize ads, prevent fraud, and understand how advertising performs. These third parties may place or read cookies on your browser or collect information as a result of ad serving on this site.

We use the Pinterest tag to measure whether visits to My Proofing Box are associated with our activity and advertising on Pinterest. The basic tag may collect information about page visits, browser or device details, IP address, and Pinterest-related identifiers. We do not send email addresses or other contact details through Pinterest Enhanced Match. Pinterest handles information it receives under its own privacy policy.

Depending on your location and choices, ads may be personalized using information about visits to this and other websites, or may be non-personalized and based primarily on context such as the page you are viewing and your general location. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services in Google’s partner sites policy and manage advertising preferences in My Ad Center.

Where required, we will request consent before using advertising or other non-essential technologies. When consent controls are available on the site, you may use them to accept, reject, or change those choices. Browser settings may also be used to manage or delete cookies, although some site features may not work as expected if essential cookies are disabled.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell your saved recipes or notes. Information may be handled by service providers that host, secure, authenticate, or operate the site, and may be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect users and the service.

Saved recipes remain in My Recipe Box until you delete them or request deletion, subject to reasonable backup, security, and legal retention needs.

Embedded videos

Some guides include demonstrations hosted by YouTube. The video player is not loaded until you choose to play it. When you do, YouTube may receive information about your device and interaction with the video under its own privacy terms. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain where available.

Your choices

You may use the calculator without signing in, delete individual saved recipes in My Recipe Box, or contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of account-related information.

Children and changes

My Proofing Box is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the service changes; a new effective date will appear at the top of this page.
